Whitney Houston, 1963-2012

i woke up to the news of whitney houston’s death.  it’s one of those hollywood tragedies that has a big impact on me, knowing how i grew up to singing her songs on multiplex.  yes, i grew up during the cassette tape era, when my parents’s idea of honing my skills was to buy loads of multiplex tapes of madonna, whitney houston, tiffany and debbie gibson, among others.  unfortunately, i didn’t end up singing even just a teeny weeny bit like whitney, but i have loved her songs with all my heart, the best one for me would’ve to be one moment in time.

I want one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I’m racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity

rest in peace, whitney.  you are loved.  thank you for all the wonderful songs you have shared with us.
